Controlled Drugs:

If you are prescribed, controlled drugs and collect your script at the Surgery you may be asked for identification when collecting your script.  If you have a designated person to collect your script as you are housebound then they will be asked to provide identification.  You can notify us and we will update your record with the request.  Any new patients getting controlled drugs will be asked to show identification until the practice staff are familiar with these patients.

(The controlled drugs (supervision and management of use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 came into operation in October 2009.  Amendments were made to these regulations in July 2015.)

Results:

Results will only be given to the patient directly or if you want to authorise someone then provide us with the details and the receptionist will record this on your notes.

Repeat Prescriptions:

Patients are reminded that 48 hours notice needs to be provided for repeat prescriptions. These can be ordered online, via telephone line option 2 or call into the surgery.

Sick Lines:

The first seven days are self – certified; you can obtain a copy through your employer or download a copy online.  If you require a sick line after the first seven days then you are required to arrange a routine ring back with a Doctor, unless we have evidence regarding surgery etc that we can issue a line in conjunction with.
